Room by Room

Could you list everything in your home from memory?

After a fire, flood or break-in, insurers usually ask for a list of everything you lost and what it cost. Most people end up writing it from memory, while living somewhere else. Walk through your home with your phone now, one room at a time, and keep the list somewhere safe.

Private by design

A list of everything valuable in your home, and where it is, shouldn't sit on anyone's server. This one never leaves your device.

For the cover page

Keep a copy away from home

  1. Save a copy. One PDF with every room, thing and photo, ready to give an insurer. Next time, open it here to carry on.
  2. Keep it somewhere that isn't your home. Email it to yourself, put it in a cloud drive, or give a USB stick to someone you trust. A copy that only lives on this phone could be lost with everything else.
  3. Do it again once a year, and after you buy something big.

Smaller copies

The full copy holds every photo, so it can be too big to email. These are small enough for any email, but have no photos.

How your list stays private

  1. This page can't send anything. It tells your browser to block every connection it might try to make, so even if it wanted to, it couldn't send your photos or list to us or anyone else.
  2. Kept on this device, for you. Your list and photos are kept in this browser so you can stop and carry on later. Nobody else can reach them. You can remove them any time, at the bottom of “Your home”.
  3. Photos lose their location. Each photo is shrunk and re-saved on your device, which leaves out where and when it was taken.
  4. Try airplane mode. Once this page has loaded, turn off Wi-Fi and data. Everything still works, including saving your copy.
  5. What we count. How many times this page is opened each day, and which site sent people here. It's a number per day, with no cookies and nothing about you. It never includes your photos or list.
  6. What's up to you. The copies you save are a list of your valuables. Keep them as carefully as a passport.
